Showcase

MU Showcase is designed to highlight forward-thinking musical artists based in central Iowa and beyond. The artists performing at MU Showcases are not only breaking ground with their music and performances, but also stand as examples for how to engage with fans in new and interesting ways.

FM Supreme

Born and raised in Chicago, FM Supreme uses language as a tool for positive change. FM Supreme is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago and has studied public policy and global affairs in Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia. She is a seven-time international performing poet, artist, peace activist, MC and educator who describes herself as a "humanitarian rap artist." She is the founder of Chicago International Youth Peace Movement, a peer to peer networking and advocacy group, co-founder of The Peace Exchange: Chicago-Asia, and is part of the inaugural class of co-founding members of Black Youth Project 100.

Squirrel Flower

Squirrel Flower is the experimental folk project of Ella Williams. A singer of classical choral music since age 8, having toured globally with several choruses, she has been performing under the moniker Squirrel Flower since 2015, performing alongside Frankie Cosmos, Xenia Rubinos, Moses Sumney, Lucy Dacus and Quilt among other artists. She has toured across the US in two separate tours, reaching Boston, New York, Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Iowa. Her last album, Early Winter Songs From Middle America, has been described as "undeniably human" and "a wistful blend of sounds...both hopeful and haunting."
